Re: Carry at church
i don't have to!(well most of the time). I go to church where i know one of the churchgoer is an off duty police officer. most of the time he's there cause he is one of the ushers. i feel pretty good when he's around. And what will you do if there is actually an active shooter situation in your chu...

Re: Carry at church
A number of us here CCW on stage as pastors or worship leaders. Although it felt funny the first time I did it (it was like a first time Wally Walk turned up to eleven), I don't even think about it anymore.

I think you need to let me store that blue on for you in my safe.AEA wrote:Marlin is the way to go in my opinion. I have 2 in .357.
One is a 80's vintage, blue and one is a brand new 2009 Stainless Steel model. Both are 1894's with 18" barrels.

Re: Video: 5M,30S. USMC vet shoots it out w/ jewelry robbers
Not intending any criticism whatsoever, but this is one reason why neither my 5 shot revolver nor my 6 shot Keltec are not my primary choices for CCW. I generally don't load myself down with more than one extra magazine when belt carrying. I'll carry two extras in my shoulder rig, but that is as muc...

Re: Twist Rates & Bullet Weights........
I would think that the barrel length is also a factor and that the manufacturer would optimize the twist to the barrel length using standard military ammo. That is what I would do. It is true that length, twist, and bullet weight all play a part in the equation, but they are not always interdepende...

Re: Tea Partier Carries AK-47 at Capitol in Austin
I will note that the AK-47 guy's "perception" and "wisdom" clearly exceeds that many on this board, since he accurately judged that he could excercise his legal rights without a problem. And you are clearly missing the point. I for one never said it was not his right. I never sa...

Re: Federal Health Police
Second, what does this have to do with guns and gun issues? While I agree this is probably nothing, why are you so concerned with trying to police what the moderators have clearly chosen to allow? It's just a shame that the moderators just recently decided to reject their rule about limiting the ta...

Re: CHL and cleaning
I clean after every range trip, and I strip and clean my carry guns as needed. If it has been a hot day and I sweated a lot, then the gun gets wiped down and lubricated. Stuff like that.

Re: Arizona to allow concealed weapons without permit
Charles, I met Korwin at the TSRA booth at the back of the room at the convention a couple of months ago. Or at least it seemed like it was the TSRA booth. TSRA, Korwin, and Suzanna Gratia Hupp appeared to be sharing tables. There's even two books by Korwin for sale on the TSRA website. In any case,...

Re: Perception versus Reality
sawdust, I think you've stated the case eloquently, with a real life experience to make the point. Our right to RKBA is so precious, and it is very, very much under attack. Therefore, discernment and wisdom are called for like never before. I absolutely support "AK Dude's" right to carry t...

Re: Tea Partier Carries AK-47 at Capitol in Austin
So, while I may not have been willing to do this, I must support the man's right to carry the rifle and the decision to do so while protesting the oppressive government. Steve, I don't think anyone is questioning his right to do this, only the wisdom of doing it at this particular time or place, wh...
