Hey Ted,

I'm from Odessa too. And no, there aren't any places in Odessa to go. I'm lucky, I have some friends who bought land with a pit on it that they have built a range in. Unfortunately, it's only for family and close personal friends to use, so I can't give out the combination or take anyone with me. I do know of a few ranges in Midland though. I'm not sure how to get ahold of them as I haven't had the need, but I have heard several people talking about them. Maybe go to one of the gun stores around, I like Between the Walls in Midland personally, and ask them. Maybe they could help you more. Good luck finding somewhere. I know how you feel, I didn't have anywhere to go until recently either. My friends bought the land I'm talking about because of the nowhere to shoot dilemma.

This little writeup I found says no other ranges within 50 miles. http://www.packing.org/range/texas/range.php?range=243

There is basically nothing in Odessa.

I lived there for a year in 1975, my youngest daughter was born in Odessa. Lucky Me I left for the Lubbock area then on to the Metroplex.
