Outdoor range North Fort Worth/Weatherford?

#1

Post by bjrichus »

Last week, I was able to join a couple of friends and do some shooting outdoors. We were on like 150 acres of private land, with a large berm behind targets etc. Not likely to get out there too often so was just wondering if Google was right in saying that there are few options to the west of the immediate Fort Worth area for outdoor handgun range shooting? :???:

Several indoor ranges for sure, but I'd be interested in recommendations for outdoor ranges in Tarrant/Parker/Wise counties...

Quail creek and proactive defense are neighbors at 114 and 35w.

I've been to both, I prefer proactive for the steel and advanced drill and holster draw you can do there. Proactive isn't really for the beginner though, you are expected to show a high level of proficiency if you want to do advanced drills and draws. They do have multi level classes and action pistol matches there though.

Quail creek has strict range officers but is fine otherwise.

Parker County Sportsmans Club outside of Poolville, but it's a private club. Nice facility though.

This is where I took my class for my LTC, very nice facility I plan on joining this club as they are maybe 15min from my house!

Another recommendation for PCSC. Been a member for a while now and still maintain my membership for use when we're back home.
