Lonestar Gun Club - new in Forney/Mesquite area

Postby AndyC » Sat Nov 05, 2016 2:53 pm

I heard about this new place from a friend so I drove down there today to check it out because they allow rapid-fire, draw from holster, shoot on the move and no problem with FMJ rifle.

The prices on the website can be negotiated down a little until they have their official opening.

They are still adding to the range but they have the basics down just so they can get started:

8 tactical handgun bays - 3 in front, 5 at the left side of the property
2 rifle ranges - a 100/200 range at the left side of the property, a 600 in front
Trap/skeet and a 3-gun course are planned

Military/LEO/First Responder discounts available. VIP is more expensive but then there are no range-fees per visit, a bay can be reserved, the annual membership fee is locked-in at that price, etc, etc

They were at pains to note that this is only the beginning with 3-gun course and clay-pigeon to come, but here's the current layout:

My understanding is that this is owned by the same folks that own Fusion?

Yes - they told me they were closing down Fusion to have a bigger facility.

I'm glad this discussion happened. I picked up one of their brochures at a gun show recently and was going to check out their range. After reading how one of our forum members was treated at the original range, as well as the thread on ar15.com I won't spend a dime with these people.

Well, heck - guess we'll have to see how it goes.

From my understanding, yes. I doubt there would be much of a clash - Gibson's is public and this one is private.
