Shooting range for practice San Antonio area

Post by timsatx »

Anybody know of a range where you can actually practice instead of target shooting? I would like to be able to practice draws and multiple targets. I haven't seen anything like that and I don't want to have to use competition as my only option to practice.

By the title, I'd guess San Antonio.

Yes, as title says San Antonio area. I periodically go out to the Blackhawk for target practice.

SA is pretty big. On the far east side at Bexar Community you can get extra targets (B27). No RSO. If you're the only one on the range you can do many things. Not fancy. This page has several photos.

I understand Cedar Ridge on the far north side has tactical bays but haven't made it out there yet so don't know how it works.

The Bullet Hole (78245) might be a place to look at. They have private outdoor bays, but I don't know what goes on in those private outdoor bays.

Blackhawk is where I go for practice - weekdays only for me - no crowds - nice range and friendly owners. http://www.blackhawkshootingrange.com/B ... lcome.html

Lone Star Range is new - haven't been there, but looks nice. - https://www.lonestarhandgun.com/

Cedar Ridge is a great place to shoot. They strickly enforce safety rules and you can often get a private bay.
