Is this NRA Board nominee a problem?

Found on a couple of other shooting websites that a man - "John Brown" - has been nominated as an NRA Board candidate for the next election. According to the linked article, this man was - among other things - a confidential informant for ATF, and was involved in throwing a monkey wrench into the NFA trust route.

Pretty troubling, if true - hard to say from a distance if it was actual malice or just incompetence in negotiating with ATF in the matter of NFA trusts, but in either case, he may not be Board material.

Charles, do you have any information on what the real story is with this nominee?

I would not vote for him. Looks like a potential mole or provacateur.

I was not on the Nominating Committee this time (can only do it every 5 years) and I know nothing about Mr. Brown. I don't even know that it's the same "John Brown."
