If you want the Second Amendment to remain after this current attack on it, then start spreading the truth anywhere and everywhere you can. Post these videos everywhere! Whining and making exaggerated or outright false allegations about the NRA, Cornyn "caving in" may make people applaud themselves in the mirror, but it doesn't help preserve constitutional freedoms.

Bumping this up into the "new posts" list...because it needs to be seen frequently.

It'll never happen, but if Trump were to name Dana Loesch as his running mate, just imagine. He'd convince 2A supporters that he was absolutely sincere. A strong woman on the ticket couldn't hurt the vote. Any foreign dignitary (adversary) relegated to meeting with the Vice President wouldn't see a fluffy-bunny Biden. They'd be quaking in their boots.

Ah well. It was a thought while it lasted...

They are definitely coming and they seem even more emboldened than before.

Halperin made this observation after host Chuck Todd said Democrats “merged terrorism and guns” post-Orlando in an attempt to push gun control through. But Halperin explained that the Democrats’ push is not really about what they believe they can pass now. Rather, it is what they plan to get with Clinton.

Can we add Colion Noir's response as well? He's got a bit of language in his video, but it's great IMHO.

I just want to know, how long can one be delayed the right to purchase a firearm while the FBI investigates? A month? A year? Indefinitely? Gotta be careful here.

NICS has 48 hours to deliver a 'no go', otherwise it is a default 'go'.

I think Cornyn's bill has a 72 hour delay that would allow the FBI or whomever to go in front of a judge and present evidence to block the sale longer than that (and get an arrest warrant)

An Republican alternative by Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, which would require that law enforcement be alerted when anyone on the terror watch list attempts to buy a weapon from a licensed dealer. If the buyer has been investigated for terrorism within the past five years, the attorney general could block a sale for up to three days while a court reviews the sale.
So the AG blocks the sale, which court reviews the sale? A court of one's peers? What if they say no sale? Do you go to court immediately to defend yourself? Are you blocked for months while the court further investigates? Does whoever put you on the list publicly testify?

I think that's the idea - to block to sale you have to have enough evidence for an arrest. not to just sit there with right suspended without a trial for an indeterminate amount of time.

If you're arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance, will you pass a NICS check while the charges are pending?
