You gotta be kidding...not where I am, I've got wheat that needs water and cattle that needs winter feed...get you an umbrella.
How does rain south of Houston help someone west of Fort Worth? :headscratch
When in doubt

If rain's gonna be a problem for you, send it north. We've been dry for weeks and can really use it.

Pretty dry down here too. Hadn't rained for weeks.
We need a couple of days of solid rain but we just don't want it on forum day.

The 20% chance is probably the best estimate. There'll be a "sag" of cool stuff into the upper midwest, and the air in the northwest is confused right now. Good chance of stuff moving through here Thursday or Friday. The main threat Saturday may be from the south, with showers at the worst in that case. YMMV....

I hope you guys had a great day without the wet stuff. As for us, we finally got a good soaking. Thanks. :tiphat:

Charles L. Cotton wrote:We've been lucky with weather so far. One year we had off and on light showers in the afternoon, but they were short duration and the classes worked around it. A nine day forecast is virtually worthless, especially here on the Gulf Coast so don't get worried yet.

When I was a student pilot, my instructor said to check the winds aloft to see if they are as forecast (direction and velocity). If they aren't then the weather forecast is worthless.

Wow in my 26 years of flying it never ceases to amaze me what I don't know. That makes perfect sense to me. I will start incorporating that into my preflight planning. Thanks Charles
I love the sound smell of jet fuel in the morning.

Glad you got your rain you've been needing.
Fortunately, we didn't get rained on during forum day. It turned out to be a mix of sun and clouds. It was warm and humid but fairly comfortable. I'm just glad I wore shorts and drank plenty of water. ;-)

We dodged the bullet on the weather. For a while the dark clouds looked threatening and the wind kicked up some dust but it was a perfect day. Later that night we got a pretty good down pour at my place. That was nice because it washed all of the dust off my car.

I met your husband and I saw you, but you were shooting so I didn't want to distract you with my yellow boots.
