Use driver's license photo?

The instructor said you can use your driver's license photo. The FAST application says a digital photo will be taken while there. Does FAST always take a digital photo? If we want to use the driver's license photo where do we say that?

The photo taken by FAST (or whatever their name is this week) is for identification only, and is NEVER used as the photo on your license.

To answer the other question, just write "Please us DL photo" on the CHL-6 (misnamed "Photo Holder").

Yes, you can use your DL photo for your CHL, but that does not mean DPS will use it. Last year when I renewed I wrote on the CHL-6 a request for DPS to please use my DL photo inasmuch as it was about 6 months old. Instead they used the photo from a a previous renewal and that photo was 5 years old.

Your DL photo will be used even for first time CHL. Now a photo is only needed if the applicant is a non-resident or the licensing folks deem the DL photo unacceptable.

That fact is very unclear on the application.
And the finger print folks just happen to sell passport photos.
Bottom line is: you don't need new photos.
