Statistics reported by the Dallas Police Department showed a decline in violent crime incidents and victims last year...Dallas Police Department crime statistics show the city saw a steady decline in violent crimes in 2022 after peaks in 2020 and 2021
Far from blood in the streets, since Constitutional Carry went into effect on Sept 1, 2021, violent crime in Dallas is down.

Dallas total homicides: 2019-2022 (4 years)
715

Meanwhile in strict gun control Chicago:
Total Homicides
2022: 737
2021: 855
2020: 798
2019: 521

I think it would be a lot easier to cover-up (or under-report) "violent crimes", depending on how you choose to categorize them than it would actual deaths/homicides, which would seem pretty quantifiable.
But, what do I know?
