That happened near my house!

Cops eat at the lubys all the time when its open. I've seen people casually meeting there late at night as well.

It's always shocking when it happens near where you live or work, but there is no parking lot of a closed business that is a good place to be at 3 a.m.

Crime happens all up and down the Gulf Freeway. People who don't live around here may forget about all the corpses found around Calder Road and all the young women who have disappeared over the years, like Jessica Cain.

I would think that businesses and people near a major freeway and along the feeder roads such as I45 would be prime targets for BGs. Within minutes of committing a crime, the BGs can be several miles from the scene.

I have a friend in LE who said there's a significantly higher rate of robberies at banks that are within a mile or two of a freeway entrance ramp.

Not only banks. There's a higher incidence of robberies of businesses and persons in parking lots, and burglaries.

I've noted burglaries in places that you can't even see from the road, which are minutes from a major highway.

You may recall a few months ago there was a string of robberies in the parking lots of HEBs, Walmarts, big box-type stores, along one of the interstates in Houston. Couple guys were just driving down the highway, stopping at the big boxes near the exits, and robbing women shoppers who were getting into their cars...until the last lady shot at them. There is a thread about it on the forum someplace.

There's no plea bargain for him now and no time off for good behavior.
I believe the basic political division in this country is not between liberals and conservatives but between those who believe that they should have a say in the personal lives of strangers and those who do not.
