My wife sent this to me just now. Many of y'all know she has her own jewelry store, so this hits close to home.
Houston, Texas — A jewelry store owner fights back after three men tried to rob his Texas shop. Two out of the three robbers were hit and one died from his injuries.
The attempted robbery occurred about 2:45 p.m. in the 12100 block of Jones Road when three armed men came into the store and began to pistol-whip the owner, according to Harris County Sheriff's Deputy Thomas Gilliland.
The store owner was able to recover his own weapon inside the store and fired at the suspects. The suspects fired back before eventually fleeing the store in an unknown vehicle. Investigators believe at least two of the robbers were struck by bullets.
Gilliland said late Tuesday that a body found in the 15600 block of Rosehearty Drive is believed to be a suspect connected to the robbery.
Another man believed to have been involved in the robbery showed up at an area hospital, Gilliland said. The third robber remains at large.
One suspect somehow made it to a nearby hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. A second suspect did not survive. His body was dumped about six miles away from the scene on Rosehearty -- a dead end street. It appeared a pistol was placed nearby, according to investigators. The third suspect was caught on surveillance video two doors down at a restaurant. He had stopped to use the restroom. He is the only one not in custody.
