12 Inmates Escape from Alabama Jail

Post by WildBill »

A dozen inmates made a brazen escape from an Alabama jail on Sunday, sparking a
massive manhunt and the recapturing of at least eight of them.

Walker County Jail officials said that 12 inmates escaped at around 9:30 p.m. local time.
Authorities have not said how the inmates were able to escape the prison.

Local law enforcement is assisting the Walker County Sheriff’s Office in the manhunt and
urged residents to stay off the streets.

Twelve inmates escaped the Walker County Jail Sunday night after using peanut
butter to cover a door number and trick a young jailer, Sheriff James Underwood said Monday.

Of the 12, all but one was back in custody by daybreak Monday.
"I thank the Lord today we have 11 people back in the jail,'' the sheriff said.
Putting peanut butter over a cell number
This jail really needs to improve their security and training! :banghead:
