My best friend's wife told me about this. She works at the high school attached to Houston Community College (HCC) in that parking lot, and they'd been on lockdown earlier in the day.
Short version of the story:
Apparently, some guy attempted to rob a convenience store. He wrecked while leaving, and tried carjacking for a getaway. As he entered the parking lot of the campus with his gun, HPD expressed their displeasure with his actions. Instead of complying, he pointed his gun at the officers, which further displeased them. A lieutenant with a couple of decades of experience on the force decided to engage.
Only one person was injured, other than the perp who was dispatched by the officer. That person was hurt during the car incident.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Great job by the HPD officer!

Nice work by the stop and rob clerk too.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
