Mom was inside having her nails done. Children were in her car waiting, when a drive by shooter targeted the car.

City Councilman who represents the district was there and was interviewed on TV pleading to President Trump to do something about guns.

A person commits an offense if he intentionally or knowingly leaves a child in a motor vehicle for longer than five minutes, knowing that the child is:
(1) younger than seven years of age;  and
(2) not attended by an individual in the vehicle who is 14 years of age or older.

The 8 year old child later died. A teen has now been charged with his murder. No mention of charges against the mother for leaving them unattended in the car.

The mom should be charged. I never leave my child in the car alone and she is not a baby anymore.
