Campus carry - Outlaw Dave coverage on the 950AM today

Being the 950, he was all in favor of campus carry, but they took listener calls both pro & con. I got into the queue, but the show ended before I could get a turn @ the mike :totap:

Definitely not a stacked deck like the Dallas show that Charles reported on earlier today.

Oh, but one thing - Dave kept saying that the house had *passed* the bill, and now it was going to the senate. I think he must be confused by the fact that there are 81 house representatives signed on as author or co-author. The Capitol's website shows that the bill hasn't even made it to committee yet?

Yes, you are correct. Bill has not been referred to committee yet. It must also be read in committee and voted on, before going to the Calendar's committee, then voted by full House (unless they place on local and uncontested calendar, which is my favorite ;) )

Calendar committee makeup/author status:

Chair:
Rep. Byron Cook 8 Corsicana (author/coauthor) :txflag:

Vice Chair:
Rep. Jose Menendez 124 San Antonio

Members:
Rep. Tom Craddick 82 Midland (TSRA endorsed)
Rep. John Frullo 84 Lubbock (author/coauthor) :txflag:
Rep. Pete Gallego 74 Alpine
Rep. Charlie Geren 99 Forth Worth (author/coauthor) :txflag:
Rep. Patricia Harless 126 (TSRA endorsed)
Rep. Harvey Hilderbran 53 Kerrville (author/coauthor) :txflag:
Rep. Dan Huberty 127 Humble (author/coauthor) :txflag:
Rep. Rene Oliveira 37 Brownsville
Rep. John T. Smithee 86 Amarillo (author/coauthor) :txflag:
Rep. Burt R. Solomons 65 Carrolton (author/coauthor) :txflag:
Rep. Sylvester Turner 139 Houston
