I am still a little puzzled on the status of this. Is it a done deal and waiting on formalities or is there a chance it can be pigeonholed somewhere and die?

thanks

Yes, it could die if 1) a conference committee isn't appointed; 2) the committee fails to reach a compromise; 3) the committee reaches a compromise and either the House or Senate fails to pass the compromise bill; or 4) Governor Perry vetoes the Bill.

None of these are at all likely.

The deadline for the House to pass House bills is Thursday at midnight, so the Calendars Committee is pushing House bills onto the Calendar. After Thursday, Senate bills will be set, including SB321.

Pardon my ignorance, but does that mean this is dead, Thursday would have been 5/12?

thanks

No, the deadline was for the House to pass House bills. It can still pass Senate bills.

The cynic in me says they are doing this on purpose to let it die so they can say they voted for it, but they ran out of time to pass it.

But then I have been accused of excessive negativity

I think you are correct on ALL the gun bills. They will fail but pseudo-supporters will say they tried but tsk, tsk.

Probably orchestrated from the get-go. Perry not putting them on the emergency list but doing so for things like sonograms was a wonderful diagnostic of this strategy.

Hope I'm wrong. Yeah.

I don't know if it's supposed to show up in the ROB or not.

I have the Senate feed up.

Read in the Senate today. Senate refused to concur and requested a conference.

Was anyone listening today? I wonder why they refused to concur. Hopefully the House and Senate can work something out in committee or else it's going to die yet again.

Missed it.

Wonder if it's the whole chemical plant thing.

Or maybe Lucio has a parking lot In this district where kids park their bikes attached to a real parking lot. And they share the same air filling station. "rlol"
