ITEMS ELIGIBLE FOR CONSIDERATION
Saturday, May 28, 2011

ELIGIBLE AT 3:50 PM MAY 28, 2011:
HB 2560 Sheffield / Driver / Legler / et al.

Relating to transporting a foster child in a vehicle where a handgun is in the possession of a foster parent licensed to carry a concealed handgun.
===================

Differences resolved in Committee:
Senate had "concealed on the Person" of the CHL
House had "in the possession and control" of the CHL

Committee adopted House version ... GOOD because: (Among other things, allows for such as "on the Seatbelt" carry using a Wilderness Safepacker instead of "on the Person")

irresponsible parents

leaving kids in car; burning up to death from heat

leaving unsecured guns in car off body; while leaving kids alone in car

crime to leave kids alone in car anyway ... they burn up or are endangered anyway; crime anyway

(oops, I guess I reported the Senate adopting it to the House members with twitter, before the Senate Messenger got across the hall to tell them officially :mrgreen: ... kinda on purpose ;-) )
All Rep. Sheffield had to say was, Members, this is the same we passed and Senate tried to change it and Conf Committee changed it back to what we had ...ppl laughed, they voted, it' was adopted in House. (Turner was absent on original vote ... I was worried about him and the 2 voting against it last time, but it was unanimous this time)

@_PatJohnson_ Thank you for the support, I thought it was best to keep the language that way
_PatJohnson_ Pat Johnson
@texassheffield correct, I use Wilderness Safepaker; Seatbelt OR BELT carry; sometimes locked in briefcase - off body
_PatJohnson_ Pat Johnson
@texassheffield 5 min Video Wilderness Safepacker 4 ways to carry " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks you will get to decide the way you want to carry that is concealed

Twitter is SO much better than e-mailing and Faxing and calling to talk to "Staffers"

This really was utilized by the anti-campus carry group a lot; we need to remember that for 2013

And, now he follows everything I say on Twitter, along with some others.

There's 112 following me, mostly I'm following (958) every Senator/Representative from every State and US Congress; I've been on Twitter a week now? May 17, 2011-May 28, 2011... I shouldda got on this thing back BEFORE the Legislature started to get a rapport with the actual legislators themselves, instead of talking to Staff.
