Operating successfully in the political/legislative arena requires experience, insight, finesse, maturity and a statesmanlike approach. Actually, these characteristics serves one well in all aspects of life. Most people learned as a child that when you take the approach that “I will be satisfied only if you give me everything I want,” you usually got nothing. Those who do not learn that lesson early in life do not tend to fare well in business, marriage, parenthood, or just about any other relationship where people have differing desires and values. . . .

Paragraph 7 has a typo you might want to corrrect:
Texans regained the right to carry self-defense hands with the passage of SB60 in 1995.
"Hands" should read "Handguns".

I was also reading the Dan Patrick Open Carry article. Last sentence. Shouldn't that be Lt. Gov. Patrick?

Aside from a typo or two, witch I am knot emmune, these are great articles and I will be sharing them with my CHL students and on my Facebook page.

Thank you Charles for all of your efforts and patience.

It's also customary to call the Lt. Gov. "Governor." It can go either way.

No problem. I shared it on the Texas Concealed Carry Facebook page, where there are a LOT of people who need to see that message.

Good move. :thumbs2: Anxious to see how long it stays there.

They'll see it but it probably won't do a whole lot of good.

Posted the article to my FB page. I stated that "There is a way to get things done and a way to not get things done. You may not like it, but it is what it is." Hopefully a few folks will read it and share it with others. Oklahoma now has licensed carry, open or concealed, and being that I work in Oklahoma, and with quite a few "gun guys", I haven't heard anything problematic about it from them. It is the proper "next step", IMHO.
