I don't think there is any "if" about it. He needs to go.

It isn't very likely to happen. He's served as a state senator since 1990. I believe that he's run unopposed several times. And when he has had an opponent he's won handily. I don't agree with his politics, but he's likely staying around as long as he wants to.

OTOH, when I lived here last, there weren't any... well, so few they held their caucuses in a broom closet.
