Looking to become NRA Certified Instructor

#1

Post by melkor41 »

I am looking to work on getting some NRA Instructor certifications. I was looking at the NRAHQ page and it said to contact their number for a list of names.

"Instructor training courses are conducted by NRA Training Counselors. Training Counselors are active and experienced instructors who have been appointed by NRA to train other (new) instructors. You may request a list of training counselors in your geographic area by contacting the NRA Training Department at 703-267-1430. "

I would rather "keep it in the family" so to speak and was wondering if anyone on the board here would be willing to train or do train for NRA certifications? Specificaly I am loooking for Rifle instructor first but eventually want to get every one that I can.

I am in the Garland/Richardson area, If it is over a weekend I would be willing to travel as long as I am not leaving the great state of Texas. :txflag:

So I've always been told that I was a "Learner" and well, I agree...

I'm also looking for the NRA Certified Pistol Instructor course. I figure it would be beneficial for me, as well as benefit anyone else I can impart the knowledge to.

I am willing to travel a little bit if needed (Austin, Corpus Christi)

Check out the Grand Prairie Gun Club. Their web site is http://www.gpgc.net/ . They have a staff of training counselors there who conduct Basic Pistol, Rifle, and shotgun instructor courses every year. Jan Heath is their lead counselor and could help you with information, Information may also be on their web site.
