This two-day course is based off the “Care Under Fire” phase of the TCCC principles. Each student will learn how, and more importantly, when to care for the wounded while in the immediate area of an ambush or active contact situation. This will be a fast-past and physically demanding course. Each student will learn the following subjects through limited lecture, plenty of hands-on skills practice, and multiple scenario-based training sessions. Each student will conduct these scenarios using live fire drills as individuals and in either two and/or four-man teams.

Subjects that we will cover in class:

Care Under Fire principles and techniques
Casualty Movement Techniques; Drags & Carries
Rescue Rigging
Improvised Litters
Rapid Trauma Assessment/Rapid Blood Sweep
Control Bleeding; proper use of
Tourniquets
Pressure Dressings
Hemostatic Agents
Self-Aid and Buddy-Aid Techniques
Caleb’s “Almost Famous Dehydration Lecture”
Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK)
Equipment
Selection
Proper Placement/Carry
