retention holster

#1

Post by ntexaschl »

Hello Forum,
I'm looking for a retention holster for my stainless ultra raptor. I don't like thumb breaks, snaps, or velcro. I prefer leather holsters. Suggestions, please.

Thanks Forum,

Thank you for the reply, Dave. That SnapLok looks interesting.

How much retention do you want? Desantis makes several leather holsters that have a screw with adjusts the retention on the trigger guard.

I have a couple examples of their "Speed Scabbard", and retention on them is pretty decent. I'm kind of interested in their "Mini Scabbard" of their "TOP COP 2.0" for my G43. My only complaint about the Desantis holsters is that most of them don't have a reinforcing strip to help hold the mouth of the holster open for reholstering. The "TOP COP 2.0" does have the reinforcement: http://www.desantisholster.com/TOP-COP-2-0. There is a model for 3" 1911s.

Thanks for the reply/link, TAM. I'm still looking at the carryloc. I think that I'd like that level of retention.
