ATF Director B. Todd Jones spoke in a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing today, and confirmed exactly what I said when the M855 party started: the ATF is not just concerned about M855, but all 5.56 ammunition.
I see that Mississippi's response is:
In the Republican-dominated Mississippi legislature, on March 10 the state Senate voted by a whopping 115 to 1 margin to adopt legislation that will, among other things, delete references in current state law referring to ammunition classified as being “armor piercing.” Many in the state see this as pertaining directly to the M855 imbroglio.
Just curious if the TX legislature would have the appetite to also "delete references in current state law referring to ammunition classified as being 'armor piercing.'"
