It is never a good ideal to shoot through a door in my mind. Look at how many rounds could have went in the apartment across the hall. However I had no ideal apartment doors could be that strong.

Dallas County Sheriff's Office records show Contreras' criminal history dates back to 2013.

The records show he's been arrested and charged with robbery and burglary several times before.
My question is how many times did John Creuzot let this dangerous criminal back on the streets?

I'm surprised the shooter wasn't arrested for shooting through the door like that. Maybe the DA hasn't gotten around to filing charges yet.

I think it helped that the video shows the home invaders had a pistol in hand, finger on the trigger, pointed at the door. The video clearly shows bullets go right through the door and the badguys fired twice into the apartment. Combat isn't always pretty, and this one certainly wasn't, but it was a legal shoot.

Then again the Soros DA's don't even care about the law.

In my experience it's better to wait until you have your target in your sights. We saw what happened without a proper sight picture. But I will tell you that it is not easy to be a calm, cool, disciplined defender in those circumstances. In some ways the defense is more difficult... and waiting quietly, patiently until just the right moment is WAY tougher than most people imagine.

… And I would say that it was pretty obvious that the “maintenance man” and his buddy were trying to enter an occupied habitation with unlawful force.

News showed the shooter saying that he was going to wait till the door failed and they entered. Then his ring camera showed that the guy had a gun in his hand and he then decided he didn’t want to wait.

It clear the bad guy had a gun and he wasn’t going to go away, but I don’t see where he fired his gun. I guess I missed it.

From the news article
Dallas Police say Rodriguez fired 13 rounds and the suspects fired back twice.

Despite all the shots, no one was injured.
It wasn't really clear from the video when the bad guys fired.
