One person tells Eyewitness News the man who was shot had also broke into their pickup truck, stealing a 9MM handgun.
That's why I won't leave my firearm in my vehicle overnight. I tend to park my truck in the garage, but not everyone has that option.

I just realized this happened last September. I was just going through the news the other day and saw it, never thought to look at the date until I went back to see if there were any updates.

Still a good story.

ETA: Miscreant was shot twice but survived to be charged with burglary. He's lucky he survived long enough to be shot by the homeowner, reading the details of his previous vehicle burglaries: http://www.click2houston.com/news/deput ... e-invasion

Apparently he survived his Lifeflight. I found an article from a couple weeks later that said he would be charged with burglary of a habitation. Can't find anything else.

Color me confused. The above says that his term is 4 years?

I believe so. PawPaw had a good idea looking him up as an inmate. The link he used goes to a newspaper site. I looked him up directly in at the TDCJ website, and it shows his sentence is four years. His maximum sentence date is 22 Sep 2020, so it looks like he was given credit for time served while awaiting trial. If he earns "good time" he could be released earlier.
