I see it was sent to calendar. Wonder if it will get a vote?

This is dead as of last night at 10:00 since it never made it onto the calendar. Unless the text is able to be added to another relevant bill as an amendment, there will be no reform in this area this year. I don't know all the bills out there that could even be possible targets for this to be tacked on, so I can't help you there.

The text was added as an amendment to SB 1566, so there's still a chance.

Neither mentions striking Labor code section 52.062 B & C. It seems to me that would have been the more obvious way to implement it, but maybe someone sees value in the redundant (but not explicit) explanation that a parking lot is not school premises.

Are we sure? It looks like the Senate concurred on the amendments and it's labeled as passed both houses... not sure if that's quite far enough along to be sent to the Governor, but I sure hope so!

I just checked the legislature's website. The bill looks dead to me.

Was added as an amendment to SB 1566 which was signed in both the House and Senate. Link below to enrolled version of the bill. Look at section 13. http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/tlodocs/ ... 01566F.htm

I read that the amendment was "laid on the table". I could find no record of it being re-added. Has anyone?

According to the amendments section for sb 1566 it was amendment #6 of the 2nd read in the House and was adopted on 5/23. It is section 13 in the enrolled version of the bill that I linked to earlier
