Still won't vote for Trump?

There is seemingly no end to the extent to which anti-gun people and groups will lie about guns and gun owners. Post links to articles by these masters of prevarication here.

Not a great choice, but I do lots of things in my life that I don't like to do, but I choose the best choice AVAILABLE and go with it.

Despite these recent statements on the campaign trail, we should remember that Trump wasn’t always such a strong supporter of gun ownership. Before he was a presidential contender, he called out Republicans who “walk the NRA line” and “refuse even limited restrictions” on firearms laws, in his 2000 book, The America We Deserve. “I support the ban on assault weapons and I also support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun,” he wrote.

I fear that one cannot depend on Trump's recent comments to last much beyond the election...

And the one truthful thing you can expect from hillary is she WILL try to abrogate the 2nd Amendment, she WILL appoint an anti-gun Supreme Court Justice, given the sure thing of Clinton's socialist tyrannical agenda I'll take the chance with Trump!

crazy2medic, I think that Mr.Blanker has an agenda that's not going to give way to logic and/or reason presented in this thread and/or circumstances we face as a Nation.

It's bash Trump, bash Trump etc. Not once was Hillary's corruption and her devastating anti-2A stance exposed by Mr.Blanker.

I got that feeling also, SOMEBODY has an agenda and it's pointless to discuss this further with that somebody!

Shouldn't we all have an agenda?

1. The OP has given up on the Republican Party selecting anyone else, I haven't quite yet. Hope against hope?
2. I do enjoy providing an alternative view to almost any discussion. Don't alternate views/ideas make the forum better?
3. Note that I have not attacked anyone here in a personal matter. I think that is the last resort to any argument.
4. Maybe I have been reading/watching conservative columnist David Brooks too much - quite a guy - anybody else agree with him???

Here is a snapshot of Trump's speech today:

"It is the consequence of a leadership class that worships globalism over Americanism.
This is a direct affront to our Founding Fathers, who wanted America to be strong, independent and free.
Our Founding Fathers Understood Trade
George Washington said that "the promotion of domestic manufacturing will be among the first consequences to flow from an energetic government.”
Alexander Hamilton spoke frequently of the "expediency of encouraging manufacturing in the United States." The first Republican President, Abraham Lincoln, warned that: "The abandonment of the protective policy by the American government… must produce want and ruin among our people."
Our original Constitution did not even have an income tax. Instead, it had tariffs - emphasizing taxation of foreign, not domestic, production.
Yet today, 240 years after the Revolution, we have turned things completely upside-down.
We tax and regulate and restrict our companies to death, then we allow foreign countries that cheat to export their goods to us tax-free.
As a result, we have become more dependent on foreign countries than ever before.

Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s time to declare our economic independence once again.

That means reversing two of the worst legacies of the Clinton years."

Now juxtapose that speech alone with pretty much anything that Hillary has to offer, couple that with her undeniable stance against 2A and there you go.

The choice is rather clear, for me.

I enjoy this forum because I am pro 2A and conservative but also follow conservative commentators Charles Krauthammer, George Will, Joe Scarborough and my favorite David Brooks... Could they be right about Trump?

Neither of these candidates would be my first choice, but if you believe in the Second Amendment, I personally don't see where there is any choice. Hrc has a track record of doing all she can, to do away with the Second Amendment & take away the rites of law abiding citizens!

Trump to announce VP selection Friday at 10:00 a.m. Central Time from New York. This, obviously, will be a pivotal element in his campaign. The final three are believed to be Pence, Christie, and Gingrich.
