Julianne Moore writes impassioned essay about gun control

There is seemingly no end to the extent to which anti-gun people and groups will lie about guns and gun owners. Post links to articles by these masters of prevarication here.

Isn't it ironic the people who have more security and armed guards are telling the people who have none they should be defenseless. The mainstream media perverts language for their anti-human agenda. The argument is frequently presented as a "gun rights" issue. It's not, the guns have no rights. When someone can tell me about the rights a gun has, I'll tell them about the rights my pencil, car and stove have. Fundamentally the issue is a human rights issue, but if the media had a headline, "Government pushes bill restricting human right of self defense," the bill would never pass.

When Juianne Moore says, "It should not be a pro-gun-versus-anti-gun argument. It is not an argument about our Constitution," I even have trouble deciphering the word magic. So, it's not a pro-human versus anti-human argument, and it's not an argument about the document that outlines our human rights. Then she goes on to mention "common-sense gun-safety measures" which equates to "minimal infringements to your human rights." She follows up with another buzz word,"We need you to continue to turn the tide on 'gun violence'." The term "gun violence" and the accompanying statistics generally provided show the effectiveness of more restrictions to our civil liberties, always fail to show the "human violence" statistic which stays the same or increases in every case. As sad as it is, people will find a way to kill each other with knives, bats, fists, and feet if they don't have a firearm.

Texas was great while it lasted :txflag:, but unfortunately today I'm having to call FEMA Region VI my home.... :grumble

Hey Julliane, you bring your 10 year old to your movie set? What movie were you working on?
Wouldn't have been anything like "Boogie Nights", "Hannibal", or "Hunger Games" where 12-18 year olds are forced to fight and kill eachother?

Beacon of Stupidity.
:iagree:

Just another name to add to the "don't watch list" right under Sean Penn, Liam Neeson, and what's this with Brad Pitt?
:txflag: I love this place

"Common Sense" gun control means having a gun(s) when you need it/them, hitting what you aim the gun at and not destroying something you don't want to with the gun. "Gun Violence" is a made-up term to promote a singular agenda -- to demonize a piece of hardware so that folks will want to get rid of them. Whenever anyone - celebrity or not - uses phrases like "common sense gun control", "Gun Violence" and "Assault Weapon" I immediately understand that they lack common sense much like the audience their comments are addressed to and are toeing the "party line", so to speak. Forward; Fundamentally Transform America; and all that, you know.

Merle Haggard once asked the question, "Are we rolling downhill like a snowball headed for Hell?" I think there are plenty of folks like Ms. Moore pushing the snowball -- probably because they feel certain about what is right for the rest of us.

With very few exceptions, most show biz types are either very liberal, socialist or communist.

However, I don't care what they have to say. They're in show biz, ppfffffttt!!

Unless they're opining about show biz hooey, something they might actually know about, their very liberal/socialist/communist opinions aren't worth the time it takes to listen to them.

So what if some dim bulb like Sean Penn is sucking up to some commie while expressing his admiration for them. Honestly, I just don't care what show biz types have to say.

And yes, I'm familiar with the argument that they have an unfair stage due to fame. I contend, if you think they really have something to say just because they're famous, perhaps you should reconsider being bothered by them.

Honestly, if you listen to some actor/singer/dancer and expect profundity, you're wasting your time.

Rant just beginning...
