Why Country Stars Need to Sound Off on Gun Control at the CMA Awards

There is seemingly no end to the extent to which anti-gun people and groups will lie about guns and gun owners. Post links to articles by these masters of prevarication here.

Rolling Stone? That virtue of publishing that created fake campus rape story that resulted in a $1.65 million payout to the fraternity they defamed?

Who takes Rolling Stone seriously except its employees?
The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager

When entertainers leave entertaining to express their views on...anything beyond their entertainment expertise, I couldn't possibly care less...ah, with one exception: Food!

They might know how to cook a chicken or steak or a sauce better than me and I'd like to hear about that, (it too might be entertaining) but politics?

Go away and stay there.

Entertainers political views make me gag...right, middle, or left...

Thanks for posting that article. I am also glad it contained a list of some stars who have come out in favor of gun control. Now I know which performers to not listen to or buy records from.

Of course, the problem he missed is that country music fans, as a general rule, want their entertainers to entertain and not make political statements. They especially do not want the entertainers to make statements that they disagree with, such as calling for gun control. And country music fans are known to take action when the entertainers do make political statements they disagree with. Anyone remember a group called the "Dixie Chicks"?

I bet the current top performers took to heart the lesson the Dixie Chicks learned the hard way. I sincerely doubt there will be any calls for gun control at the CMAs.

Will the Dixie Chicks be on that show?

Willie is the only other Country Dem I know of. But is Willie really country?

I read where Tim McGraw was anti gun.
I was sorry to hear that. I'll still play his one song I like. ( live like you were dieing) but I'll play it less.

I know. I was being sarcastic.

What is referred to today as country music is noise.

Did any of them have the courage to speak out in favor of common sense truck control? Rental trucks are the weapon of choice for mass murderers from Sayfullo Saipo in NYC to Timothy McVeigh in OKC.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

I think that distinction belongs to anti-gun politicians, celebrities and businessmen with armed security.
