NRA Instructor certificates

Post by bwilie »

For those of you that have recently taken NRA instructor courses, how long does it typically take the NRA to send your certificates? I took my courses back around January 19th and have received nada.

If you were already an NRA member, then your credentials are probably already in the system. Just log into http://nrainstructors.org/ with your member #. If you weren't, it can take between 4-8 weeks (per my TC, William Crowe) due to the current backlog.

Thanks for the good information y'all. I went to the NRA site and was able to register as an instructor and create a login. Once logged on, it shows my ratings and the expiration dates of 3/31/14. Guess that means it was processed this past week, so maybe I'll get the certificates in the mail this coming week.

It wouldn't have been a huge deal except I'm on the eternal waiting list for the DPS CHL instructor class (hopefully) and when I did the CHL-90 the first week of January I hadn't taken the NRA classes yet, so my instructor certs weren't listed. My status has been everything received but in background check for weeks (which I know is normal). I got the CHL-90 done right before they took the old one offline.

Anyway, I'll call DPS Monday and check and then hopefully get the NRA papers early in the week and get everything sent in....then I can wait for awhile.

I finished my NRA class and just faxed in the class completion card given by my training counselor and it was accepted. I got an invitation for April 1 class in Austin.

So I guess they had you on the list, but just waiting until you sent in the NRA cert info. My TC didn't give us our cards unless we specifically asked for them and at the time, it wasn't needed. He is supposed to send mine to me this week (hopefully) but I "might" get my stuff from NRA this week too. I'm sure since I just sent my stuff in to DPS in January I'm on down the list a ways. Maybe I'll get in before year's end. :???:

:iagree:

All Austin wanted was the completion card from the class. I am in the April 1st class too. I think NRA is 6 - 8 weeks behind on sending out certifications.

Yep...6 to 8 weeks. I took the NRA courses on January 19-21 and got the actual NRA certificates last week.
