CHL Instructor 30.06/07 Signage

Free and completely revised for the 2016 model year! Full-sized "thirty-aught-x" signs as pdf files! Did I mention "Free"?

They are 18" x 24" and Office Depot printed them on their wide-format printer for me for a mere $1.39 each. Some inexpensive foam core and a little spray adhesive was all it took to make some nice permanent signs as examples for my LTC classes.

These particular files are for LTC instructor use only. Each file is password protected; CHL instructors will know the password.

If anyone knows of the existence of an "official" Spanish translation, please let me know. I used Bing Translate for the Spanish language signs. IF SOMEONE FLUENT IN SPANISH COULD CONFIRM that the translation is appropriate, it would be very much appreciated. They appear adequate to me, but my 2 semesters of Spanish, some 40 years ago, didn't help much.

The zip file contains four password-protected documents; English & Spanish versions of both the '06 and '07 signs.

If you spot any errors/omissions, please let me know and I'll post a new zip.

And Merry Christmas!

I'd make DPS give the the exact verbiage. English and Spanish.

Um, exactly how are you going to MAKE DPS do anything?

I have had contact with them regarding this exact thing. They said they would be providing it before Jan. 1. Will they? Who knows. But a sign with 'exact verbiage' should not be 'translated' by anyone except the oversight agency.

Both PC 30.06 and 30.07 stipulate the precise English verbiage to be used.

Although requiring signs in both languages, the statutes offer no guidance as to specific Spanish verbiage, unless I'm just missing it. If such a thing exists, suggestions as to where it might be found would be most welcome.

They told me they would provide it online. Which obviously they haven't. I work in this area and recently inquired for legal reasons. I guess we'll have to wait and see as time goes along. As we Texan's all know, one slip of a word/letter in Spanish can take on a whole other meaning.

I've written to them as well, but since the statutes don't address the Spanish translation they themselves mandate, nor do they delegate the responsibility for translating the required verbiage to DPS (or anyone else, for that matter), I suspect our requests for specificity may find their way to that strange and timeless void where such inquiries seem to fade away unanswered until, at last, no one asks anymore.
