Why is a Google BOT browsing the forum?

Google bots browse everything, unless the robots.txt for the site tells it not to. That's how things get indexed and searchable.

Trespass to chattel! Put a circle / Google BOT sign on the index page of the forum.

I did not know Google Bot now creates accounts on sites. Very good to know.

There are multiple bots from various search engines around the world. Without them nobody would ever find this forum or most any websites by doing a simple search. You would have to know the exact URL of the website you wanted.

Interesting. I've never noticed it before. And considering the current climate I was skeptical.

I too have seen them listed at the bottom. Did not know what or why but now I do and it makes since. I always wondered how google knew all that stuff.

I don’t think it does any more than the “guests” do.
