CHL Application ID # on L1's FAST form

#1

Post by r_gray »

My L1 fingerprinting FAST form has a "CHL Application ID#" to fill in on top.

The problem is, I got three numbers from my CHL application:

- Trace # (13 alphanumeric characters...it's the one on the barcode receipt)

- ORI number (9 alphanumeric characters)

- RegID number (11 alphanumeric characters)

I'm thinking I should use the Trace # since that's the one under the barcode receipt they emailed to me. Correct??

Thank you,
rg

That form is for your personal records (it doesn't get sent in to DPS) so it doesn't really matter what number you use, or if you even fill it out.

That is true. There is much confusion about the FAST form. Many CHL instructors are advising students that it goes to DPS with the application. It does NOT.

Bring the form with you to your fingerprint appointment. The L1 technician will sign and date it, and give it back to you. You keep it for your records, just in case.

Uh oh...I already sent it in. I had no idea I was supposed to keep it. Anyway, I made copies of everything I sent in...if that makes a difference.

No problem. You have a copy, so you are fine.
