Just got mine in 375 H&H but I don't think I'll ever get rid of it. Maybe you'll find a safe queen someone is willing to trade.

Re: Looking for Ruger #1....
Just developing loads and got .4 moa three shot group at 50 yards with a 4 power scope using a 270 grain Barnes TSX and RL15. Had about a 6 inch three shot group at 200 yards with the same load, considering it's a four power scope with "Pig Plex" reticle that's good enough for me. Nope, I think it's a keeper.parabelum wrote:Are you sure you don't want to trade?mrvmax wrote:Just got mine in 375 H&H but I don't think I'll ever get rid of it. Wow. With a 270 grain bullet at 2590 fps, you're packing some very serious energy there.mrvmax wrote:2590 at the barrel

True- my shoulder hurt just reading that! (stinking surgery- no 'natural recoil pad' left in that shoulder. ...lol)The Annoyed Man wrote:Wow. With a 270 grain bullet at 2590 fps, you're packing some very serious energy there.mrvmax wrote:2590 at the barrel

Got a pretty nice example of #1 in 458 win mag along with 36 510gr torpedoes from Big45Guy.

Thanks!
Definitely will not let this one slip away. At one time I had one almost identical to this one (1980 model, this one is 1974), and I had one in 375 h&h. I have kicked myself in the rear for selling one and trading the other for a while, about as much as selling my colt GC Trophy.

Re: Looking for Ruger #1....
I know that Col Jeff Cooper was partial to bolt action rifles in safari calibers rather than falling block or break open actions, but he was also a big proponent of ghost-ring sights for big game rifles. I don't have the skinner brand sights, but I do have XS Sight Systems brand ghost-ring rear sights on two rifles and a shotgun, and I really like them. Mine are on a Ruger Gunsite Scout, a Marlin 336, and a Mossberg 590A1. I'm a big fan of the concept.ghostrider wrote:anyone try these sights on their Ruger No 1?
