Help me decide !
What would you rather get? A brand new gen 4 g19 for 489 out the door or a used gen 4 g19 in “Mint “ condition with 100 rounds through it for 450 out the door? Brand new one is about 40$ more. Or should I just put that towards ammo.
Re: Help me decide !
Will you have to pay taxes or FFL on either of them. That should be taken into consideration on the final price.
Re: Help me decide !
Buy new as you are not saving much. You don't know if there is a problem with a used gun. If you buy at a place like Academy and the gun needs to go back to the manufacturer than Academy will ship it back. I would tend to be suspicious of a relatively new gun being sold as the owner may have a problem gun on his hand. An older gun though may just be a good buy. On the other hand if you completely trust the seller as an honest person I would have no problem with used. I see so many youtube videos where the seller has sent the gun back to the manufacturer and then plans to dump it as soon as it is returned.

My opinion is that the seller needs to be looked at before you decide. If they are a reputable dealer, take the used gun and spend the rest on ammo.
If the dealer does not have a history to look into, go for the new one.
A few years ago, I was able to pick up a used G23 gen 4 from GT Distributors that still had all the factory lube for a great price. It was a trade in from some department. I am not saying anything, I am just bragging.

Another option. G19 police trade-in. These are usually in very good condition, have been shot enough to be broken in, but traded in because that dept had a budget for upgrades to G5.
I have a G19, 17, and 23, all police trade-ins, and have not been disappointed at all. Well, the G23 had night sights that had gone dim, but I don't like those, anyway. Easy and cheap to replace with stock sights.

For only a $40 difference, go new.

I would go new. The price difference is negligible.

I assumed "out the door" included tax and transfer fees, if any.
I vote New for the extra $40.

Re: Help me decide !
If the used gun is FTF, I’d go that route. If there is going to be paperwork regardless, I’d get the new one.
