Maybe a road trip to Arlington and North Richland Hills may be justified? Well that could be justified if you were looking for 9mm ammo. Everything else is kinda iffy. :totap:

Academy at Edgebrook and I45 has lots of Monarch 9mm and Remington bulk 525 count 22lr, Academy at Nasa has that and UMC bulk .223 for $99. Neither had .45.

9mm at Academy Hwy6 and Westheimer. Didn't ask specifically what type of 9mm, was looking for .40.

Just got an email from Aim Surplus. They have a small amount of Prvi Partizan (same as Wolf Gold) .380 FMJ for $16.95/50.

Also .32acp for $12.95 and .38 spc for $13.95.

.380 won't last long.

The Academys here in San Antonio have pretty much had a stready supply of Monarch brass 9mm for $10.99. Oddly they actually had some Blazer brass, but it was $11.99 :eek6 where right next door at Walmart it goes for $8.99 (when they have it).

This post is a day old, but here's some ammo for sale.
As of Thursday, 6/11, at 1250 AM.

Site: WalMart, Highway 79, Rockdale, TX 76567.
(East of I-35, Round Rock area)

All the following ammo was WWB, the large boxes.
I'm not sure if all 3 ammo sizes had 100 rounds each.
I don't know what the prices are.

.380 - 6 boxes! All you Bersa and Ruger LCP guys - go!
9mm - 2 boxes.
.40 - 2 boxes.
N. Texas LTC's hold 3 breakfasts each month. All are 800 AM. OC is fine.
2nd Saturdays: Rudy's BBQ, N. Dallas Pkwy, N.bound, N. of Main St., Frisco.
3rd Saturdays: Golden Corral, 465 E. I-20, Collins St exit, Arlington.
4th Saturdays: Sunny St. Cafe, off I-20, Exit 415, Mikus Rd, Willow Park.

So, what's the deal now when buying ammo?

Do they make you wait 3 days, or do they do
a background check thru the ATF database?

Just curious. Last time I bought ammo was
about 2003 down in Austin Texas on north Lamar
and they rang me up like I was buyin soda water
or something (no big deal at all)

More like buying beer. There's a minimum asge of 21 for handgun ammo and 18 for rifles and shotguns.

So they swipe your Driver's License through the verification
system like they do some places when you buy booze?

:headscratch I never knew a retailer to swipe my ID. Not for booze at Spec's and not for beer at HEB.

Clarification, please...... Hwy. 360 and Great Southwest Pkwy, do not intersect....Both run north and south. ;-)
