MOnster sale on ammo at Sports Authority/Oshmans! Go Now!

Post by HighVelocity »

Get out of your chairs and get your tails to Sports Authority or Oshmans. ALL Winchester Centerfire ammo is $3 off the lowest marked price per box, no limit!

I just cleaned out the North Richland Hills store of 5.56 Q3131 for $1.99 per box and I bought a case of 240gr JSP 44mag for $12 per box of 50.

THe DFW boys are already onto this and shelves are emptying fast so move!

Thanks for the info. I just got 10 boxes from the one near me. Too bad they don't carry .357sig...

Take the add from today's paper showing the $3 off all Winchester Centerfire ammo and go to Academy (has 357sig). They will honor the advertised price. :D

This sale has caused severe trauma to my wallet.

My closest Academy is in Temple (I'm in Waco), and I don't get the paper...

BTW: If you bought the Winchester 5.56mm (Q3131) you may want to check the rounds before feeding them through anything, out of the 200 rounds I bought I had one split neck and a handful that looked like the sealant had leaked out around the primer. They were mixed 2003-2005 production. And a quite a few with small dents but nothing major.

If you take the Sports Authority add from the Sunday paper into Academy and show them the advertised sale, Academy will match it. At least the Academy here did.

Walmart will do the same on somethings, but knowing them ammo probably isn't one of them. They usually have to get a manager to aprove it, but I've never tried with ammo.

I didn't buy any 9mm or 45acp as the prices weren't that great. BUT, 5.56, 40SW, 44mag, .380, 357mag, and 38 spl were very cheap @ 3 bucks off per box.

Call me the french word for donkey...

But how is 50 rnds of 9mm @ ~ $5 a box not that great a deal???

I could understand if it were to be @ $3 to $3.50 might be better...

Since I primarily shoot .40, I think I am lucky if I can get a deal on a box of that for about $10...But if it can be had for $2-3 less than that, I'd love to know who to look for when those deals come around...

I'd like to find some .223/5.56 (because my Bushmaster can eat both without problems) by the case...I don't shoot it very much, but its nice to stockpile some of that stuff here and there...I suppose a good deal for some good .223 would be about $160 or less for a case???

I guess I have to start learning about ammo wheeling and dealing since we are shooting more...

   WOOHOO!

I forget if the Winchester comes 500 rounds to a case or 1000 but:
25 boxes of 20 (500 rds.) @ $1.99ea. comes out to $53.85 after tax and 50 boxes (1000 rds.) comes out to $107.71 plus there's no shipping or other fees that some places charge for handling ammo.

For the .223rem/5.56mm this is probably the best deal you'll see for a while, with almost all the Mil Spec 55gr. FMJ going to Iraq right now. About the best deal you'll find online right now is the Canned Heat from Georgia Arms and that’s $160.00 for 1000 rds. Plus shipping (I think about $17.00).

Hey, French word for donkey...

It isn't that great of a deal because you can get WWB, Wolf, CCI Blazer, UMC, American Eagle, ... for that price or better all day every day. It isn't a bad price, it just isn't the smoking deal that some of the other calibers are.
