Thanks to Bubba, we now have a place to send donations. As Bubba posted, he worked with Gary for several years and he offered to receive checks made out to Barbara Murphy and he will present them to Barb. Here is the address:

Tarrant Appraisal District
Robert (Bubba) Payne
2500 Handley-Ederville Road
Fort Worth, Texas 76118-6909

Thanks Bubba for doing this.

I posted this litle thought on Gary's Guestbook. I hope no one minds that I place it here.

When Tomorrow Starts Without Me…

When tomorrow starts without me ~ and I’m not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me,
I wish so much you wouldn’t cry the way you did today
While thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say.
I know how much you love me, as much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me I know you’ll miss me, too.

But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand,
And said my place was ready in Heaven far above,
And that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away, a tear fell from my eye,
For all of life, I’d always thought I didn’t want to die.
I had so much to live for and so much yet to do,
It seemed almost impossible that I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays, the good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared and all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday, I thought, just for a while
I’d say goodbye and kiss you and maybe see you smile.

But then I fully realized that this could never be,
For emptiness and memories would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things that I’d miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did, my heart was filled with sorrow.

But when I walked through Heaven’s gates, I felt so much at home.
Then God looked down and smiled at me from His great white throne.
He said, “This is eternity and all I have promised you
Today for life on earth is past but here it starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow, but today will always last,
And since each day’s the same day, there’s no longing for the past.
But you have been so faithful, so trusting and so true.
Though there were times you did some things you knew you shouldn’t do
But you have been forgiven and now at last you’re free.
So won’t you put your hand in mine and share my life with me?

So when tomorrow starts without me ~ don’t think we’re far apart,
For every time you think of me, I’m right here in your heart.

First of all THANKS to everyone !
Does anybody have an idea for a "cutoff" date ? Only for the purpose of me not calling after the delivery with "Hey Barb, here is one more" and the same thing a few days later. We are taking up another collection here at work but I don't expect to mix the two. Barb knows how much Gary enjoyed shooting and I've never heard of an Internet group of folks making donations for someone that most have never even met. THANKS AGAIN !!!!!

I don't have any details about Heaven, but I just can't imagine that we will need any kind of weapon for defense. Sport shooting, maybe :)

Hey Bubba.
Could you PM me the details on the donation fund? Our shooting group is planning on sending a donation for the girls.

Bubba,
If you are going tothe TSRA show, why not make Sunday the cut off. Maybe some such as myself would contribute there.
Charles said he was bringing a card for all to sign and it could all be given to Barb at the same time.

I don't know when the TSRA show is. Gary's service was today. As far as details for the fund, just make checks payable to Barbara Murphy and mail to address in previous post. I'll see that se gets them. Let's allow a couple of weeks anyway. We also have another collection going at work.
Thanks everyone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heavenly Father,

Take our brother, Gary, home to the place you have prepared for him. As spoken in your word, take away all his problems and give him everlasting life in your kingdom.
I pray, Lord Jesus, that we all are united in heaven, in our time, as you have planned for us, from our conception.
Heavenly Father, comfort the hearts of his loved ones, family, friends and aquaintances. We will all miss him.

Father, we pray this, in your name,
Amen

I am relativly new to this forum & I'm still reading many of the old, but very informative posts by the many knowledgeable gun people who contribute their expertise. But nothing impressed me as much as the heartfelt responses to a man that seems to be so much respected as the RATMAN. I didn't get to know him and I'm sorry I didn't. Since recently renewing my interest in shooting from my childhood and military days (I am 67 now) I have noticed how helpful and informative my new acquaintances are at gun stores, on the gun ranges and on this forum. Even though many of my questions must sound sorta silly they never let me know and I appreciate that. Nice to know that there are still people out there with charater.
Special to thanks "Carlson1" for sharing ""When Tomorrow Starts Without Me". I have printed and saved it.
