I can't believe I traded for an UGLY gun!

Post by seadawg221 »

I have been wanting an FN FAL ever since I first shot one last year. A friend of mine had one and we decided we might trade. When I first seen this gun I said "NO WAY"! Then he sweetend the deal, gave me some new furniture for it and a few hundred rounds of ammo, 10 magazines, etc. So we did the trade.

This is not an actual picture of my new (to me) gun but it looks EXACTLY like this one (for now anyway).

Don't laugh.....

Jason....You want to go shoot this ugly thing this coming weekend????

I have one, just without the paintjob. I think it looks good, and especially having used one a lot, i wouldnt turn that down. Glad you got your rifle. They really are great, arent they? If you dont mind me asking, what make is yours? Mine is a Imbel receiver, with various parts aquired here and there, dont ask. Only complaint i have about mine is the 3 position selector. It is SEMI-ONLY, but you should see the way peoples faces light up when they try to go to 3 and it goes into position--then i have to convince them it isnt functional. Probably should just get another selector, but if it aint broke....

Awwwwww. It's only a paintjob. It's still a pretty rifle. Give her a new paint job and she's good as new.

As other's have said, it's just finish. Other than that the gun looks nice. If your intrested in getting the metal refinished drop me a PM and I'll hook you up with someone in Conroe who does good work at a reasonable cost.

Some good old Hot Temp BBQ paint from Lowe's

After I shoot it this coming weekend I will most likely take it somewhere and have a nice black finish of some sort put on.

Anybody have any recoomendations on the fisnish? What about someone to apply the finish?

I have several items that need refinishing. Then again, i'm sure whoever does the job would probably like to get paid for it so i'll have to hold off for a while.
