Mine comes from the fact that I earned my undergraduate degree from UT Austin in 1986.

I was heavily into roller blading in my younger years...about 20 years ago and thought I was pretty good. My first skates were K2's. Later and more recently I got into snowboarding, though I haven't been able to do it since moving to Texas but my preferred gear at the time was also K2.

When I used to work the night shift we were a small group and everyone had a DC superhero/villain nickname. Every night I'd drag myself in and be half asleep the whole time and people said I was like a zombie, so my name became Grundy. Image

I am a big fan of the BBC 454 . I put a stroker 454 in my 86 Camaro and was hooked. :thewave
Ignorance is rampant in this part of Texas. I managed to shake it off and I am a firm believer of 2nd Amendment rights

It’s just a combination of my name and initials.
It was a program suggested user ID for AOL, way back in like ‘94.
And it just stuck for all these years somehow.

bigolbigun wrote: Sun Oct 29, 2006 4:53 pm There are some very interesting names on this board. All of them with a story behind them I'm sure. I thought it would be interesting to see where all of these user names came from. I have recieved several inquiries about my user name. It is pronounced with a southern drawl as one word Big Ol Big Un. As in a big dude. I was called that by a rancher one time, and it cracked my friends up and it just kind of stuck with me. I look forward to reading the orgin or meaning behind all of your user names.
Easy, it's nickname I picked up as a kid. I was the wild child out of three generations. Never a bad kid but a short tempered guy that never tolerated bullies and was prone to laying people out particularly on the football field.

My favorite plane of WWII. "The Jug". Awesome.
