Colt needs some TLC

Post by PBR »

Hey Folks I got a Colt 1911 here that I'm looking to get refinished. It does need some body work done as it was a service carry for over 20 yrs. Looking to get the same type of finish. Any recommendations or leads to anyone in or around the Houston / Baytown area? Thanks

I have a guy in Conroe that does really good refinishing and also 1911 gunsmithing. He's very reasonable. PM me if you would like his info. :tiphat:

Send it to Colt for the Tactical package. It includes a refinish of your choosing.

That's their entire service line up. You can pick and choose but the Tac pkg is a deal.

thanks for the list -- yea that tac package is nice but way out of my range (disability income only). but i figured their refinishing prices would be a little higher considering its from Colt -- i think i would like to stay local though -- the gun will not be carried and probably not shot anymore just stored and passed down to family

Google Actions by T and see who Teddy recommends. Teddy is pretty much "The guy" for 1911s in Houston. He
Doesn't take on much work anymore, but he's good.
