My grandson at the range

Post by Pawpaw »

This year, for his 37th birthday, I gave my son a new Sig P220. Nothing fancy, but it's brand new and all his. He invited me to the range with him, but I declined. After all, this was his maiden voyage with the pistol and he didn't need me as a distraction. Instead, he took his 12 year-old son and I got PICTURES!!! :thumbs2:

Say, "Hello" to William.

Image

He's becoming quite the little shooter with my old Ruger 22/45 Mk II. It lives at their house now and will continue to for quite a while longer.

He loads the magazines without assistance or complaint. Check out his booger hook in that picture!

Anyone who's used one of these knows how stiff the safety and bolt-release buttons are. William has his own method of dealing with that!

Image

Although it's hard to see in this pic, almost all of his hits are inside the 10-ring.

Image

He also put a couple of mags through his dad's Ruger P89 (9mm).

Image

And finally, he shot one round out of the P220.

Image

My son says after that one round of .45ACP, his eyes were WIDE open as he laid down the pistol and said, "WOAH!"

Thanks everyone! I think William is pretty special, but so are the rest of my grandkids (all girls).

His dad gets the credit for his training. I just laid the groundwork.

Back in the 60's my papaw taught me to shoot...

In acouple more years it will be my turn to hear, "Dang, papaw! That thing is loud!"

Great pics -- kudos.

I had a good trainer. :patriot:

BTW, William went through 350 rounds that day. He used up the last of my .22LR! Heh. But it was a great day at the range with him.

You finally came out of hiding! It's about time!

Now, about you attending a CHL class... :waiting:

I know, I know. But you also know the trouble I have between my work schedule and Shabbat. Rabbi gave me the info of an instructor who will do the class on a Friday so I should be able to get it done in a few weeks.
