Just caught this on Fox News. Bexar County responding.

Every USAF Airman has gone through basic training at Lackland. Prayers for all involved.

Praying everyone makes it through this. This is why service members need to be allowed to carry on post. As I get ready to sign in at my new duty station at Fort Hood this month, it makes me sick that I have to forfeit my right to defend myself every time I drive to and from work.

Bexar County Sheriff reporting two dead, don't know if included shooter(s).

9:54 Looking like it was a murder-suicide.

But that's a gun-free federal gov't facility. The report can't be accurate. Silly reporters. They never get it right.

Just saw a news update on fox that claims it was an airmen that did the shooting and his "commander" was the victim.

My daughter was graduating from BMT today. We were sitting in the bleachers, the new Airmen were in formation. All of a sudden they double timed it into the building behind the parade ground, and "Lock Down" was being repeated over the loud speakers.

Lots of back and forth, moving them back out, then back in, moving all 5000 of us in the bleachers into the hall across the street and then back out. It was an interesting day.

Well, first off, congratulations to your daughter, and your family. Two of my kids are "bluesuiters", too. And just remember, "flexibility is the key to airpower".

Saddened to hear the news of the shooting, though.

Thank you. I couldn't be more proud of her. My son, who graduates in a couple of months is now considering it too.

My prayers go out to all those involved in the shooting.

http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-gre ... story.html

"A former Green Beret and onetime FBI agent who committed suicide after attacking his
commander at their Air Force base in San Antonio had received a military mental health
evaluation after going AWOL last summer, his attorney confirmed Monday.
....
In 2002, he left the Army and joined the Army National Guard, serving with a special forces unit
based in Ohio, according to Conway and military records.
During his time in the Army and National Guard, Bellino served multiple tours in Afghanistan, Iraq,
Kosovo and Kuwait, Conway said.
From 2004 to 2007, Bellino also worked as a civilian contractor with a private security firm, the
lawyer said. In 2011, Bellino left the military, went to work as an FBI special agent in the New York
office but resigned after less than two years, according to an FBI statement.
He then tried to reenlist in the Army or join the Navy, but eventually settled on the Air Force because
it involved the least amount of red tape, Conway said.
Bellino took advantage of a program that allows veterans to assume jobs that are hard to fill,
including special operations pararescue training. That made him a technical sergeant after serving for
less than a year, the highest-ranking trainee in his group."
