Ouch - new requirement, must accept full size 9mm 1911 mags. EMP won't.
4" 9mm 1911 w/ ambi safety - recommend?

Ok My Kimber PRO AEGIS II is 2lbs 1.95oz loaded with a standard 9rd mag. My unloaded 1911a1 45 also no mag in it is 2lbs 4.45oz... Only one thing he will need to get a safety installed as this is right hand only, not ambi... Mine shoots great...

Any of these 3 4" models should work. I'm pretty sure they all take standard 9mm mags.

Scott, I too am curious why the "9mm in full size mag" requirement.
That is usually the point of failure for the 1911 9mm where they try to make a regular magazine work with the 9mm!
That is why the EMP is such a nice piece; it was designed and built to 9mm specs.
