im IWB Black arch holster shopping

Postby glock27 » Mon Jul 03, 2017 7:44 pm

looking into a new IWB hybrid for my shield, all i have now is a sticky which im not crazy about for anything more than pocket carry.

i like the ace1 gen 2 version https://www.blackarchholsters.com/colle ... -2-holster

however i came across and have never seen their new version the matrix https://www.blackarchholsters.com/colle ... matrix-adm i like the idea of the matrix my only concern is how the kydex is attached to the "breathable" portion and not the leather. i can just see the mesh material tearing away making the kydex mounting pull away from the "breathable mesh material" when the mesh material starts to wear and tear .... it would be nice to have some venting but ive gone this long without it so i dont need it. but if it works just as well ill go for the vented.

any input?

Thanks and happy 4th :patriot: :patriot:

Check out alien gear holster- made with scuba suit material. Gtg for my chubbyness in the Texas heat!

I think what you are looking for is StealthGear USA.

https://stealthgearusa.com/

To me, they paved the way for the whole "Breathable Holster" idea. Before it was all leather, all the time. And eventually Alien Gear came out with the neoprene scuba material, but I felt the padding and build quality on the Stealth Gear was better.

I've got two holsters from StealthGear and absolutely love the breathability in the hot Texas sun. I have their standard basketball jersey backed holster, but they eventually came out with the SG Revolution holsters that have even more holes in the holster to air venting.

There's probably a half dozen makers who produce something similar to that design. Due to back issues, I can longer carry IWB on or behind my hip, but I have become a satisfied newcomer to appendix carry. I recently bought a CYA holster for my G26, and I wrote a review about it here: http://www.texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=1157420#p1157420. In that review, I also show a similar holster that my son made for me to fit my G43. I have found appendix carry to be particularly comfortable, and suprisingly (because I wouldn't have thought so) it also conceals fairly well even for people of somewhat "prosperous" dimensions such as myself. Better yet, the price for pretty much all CYA models is $37.74. You can't beat that with a stick.

I ended up ordering the standard black arch with the fancy kevlar stitching. I had a concern that the mesh or breathable material would start to stink like dirty socks after all the sweatin. Plus the fact that im used to typical hybrids i wouldnt be losing any factors i will keep yall posted on my thoughts.

Thank you guys
