How many does the instructor need for the class to make? I should be able to do the $40 deposit in a few days...

Good question. I was going to email Phil to see how many sign-ups he has already, but based on my informal count I would be willing to bet that we are probably 1/2 way there already (class will be limited to a dozen or so shooters to ensure range safety and maximum trigger time) so I am reasonably confident that it is already a go.

I 'll see if I can find out more over the weekend if you like...

I have a non-TCHL buddy who might be interested. If we Don't look.like we'll have enough folks, let me know and I'll extend the invitation assuming no objection. :tiphat:

I emailed Phil. He said that we have enough students signed up that the class is definitely a "go" and that there is still room for additional sign-ups. The class is roughly 1/2 full as I had speculated based on comments in this thread and some PM's that I have rec'd.

Regarding the non-TCHL question here are my thoughts, please understand these are my thoughts only as I did not discuss with anyone else:
The smaller the class the faster it will move and given that everyone so far is at least a TX CHL holder and a member of this forum, there has been some cursory screening / vetting. There is a "Handgun 1" class the week before that is open to the public as well - https://txconcealedcarry.com/event/level-i-handgun/

I guess that I would leave the question open and see what other folks think...

I would love to participate, but that weekend is our monthly IDPA match. I am one of the few SOs in our small club, so I feel obligated to them first.

Ya'll enjoy; hope we do it again in the future.

He is a long-time CHL-holder but unsure if he is a member of the Forum. Sounds like we are in good shape so an additional person isn't necessary. I never mentioned it to him as it was always just a contingency plan. :tiphat:

He can always join the forum. It's free, and then it wouldn't be an issue. JMHO
