Speed loader or speed strips?????

#1

Post by cmgee67 »

I need to pick up a couple of either or. I can see the benifits of both. Speed loader is much quicker than a speed strip especially the safariland models but can be hard to carry due to their shape unless on your belt. The speed strips are super slim and easier to carry and could be done in the pocket no problem but your only gonna be loading 2 at a time. Chances are there is never going to be a need for either or ever a need to draw and fire but I always carry reloads for whatever gun I have on me. Just curious what y'all prefer who carry whee guns.

I carry mine in my left pocket from time to time. I have a pouch that fits over my belt that allows me to carry two speed strips and you can't tell what they are. In fact you can hardly see the pouch.

I have both but carry the speed strips out of convenience (pocket carry). I'll eventually want a holster for the speed loaders to see which I prefer. Either way, be sure to practice loading because it's not easy to do fast and I can only imagine what it's like under pressure.

That was very fast reloads on that video nicely done.

I think I'm going to purchase both but when I carry my LCR 357 I'm gonna throw the speed strips in my pocket. I'm going to practice a lot with them. I need to get some snap caps to do it with

Back in another day they used to teach us to shoot two and load two. You were supposed count each of your shots way back then.

When I carry a .38 snubbie I carry either 2 speed strips (summer, light clothing), or 1 speed loader and one speed strip when I can get away with the speed strip bulge.

I have carried both and also dump pouches. I prefer Speed Loaders.
I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on.
I don't do those things to other people and I require the same of them.

Thanks. Main point is loaders done right are fast but at a price size. Very hard to conceal well. Speed strips are not. But they conceal very easy. Middle ground are HKS speed loaders in a holder that straddles the belt sir 3 rounds outside 3 rounds inside the belt. https://www.copsplus.com/safariland-dou ... -model-370
