Exactly right. And I am sure that you and NRA are fully aware that I can make my AR emulate this ugly bump stock thingy with nothing more then my belt, right?imkopaka wrote:The item in question is not a weapon - it is modification of a weapon. A modification that the NRA is questioning the legality of. Further, I suspect an outright ban, as Feinstein is proposing, would be less likely than regulation, as the NRA is proposing. For example, make them an NFA item along with full autos. As long as automatic weapons are on that list, it seems logical that this would be too. If machine guns are ever deregulated (unlikely) so would these. Since they serve the same basic function of cranking out rounds very quickly, it fits that they be regulated the same.
Will you be calling on "common sense" belt regulations next?
I know you mean well, and I'm not trying to be rude to you nor NRA, heck, I've done wallet support and leg support by talking to people and asking them to join NRA since I came to this Country, but my friend, when I wake up and I see that something related to 2A that even Obama's minions cleared is now being brought up to the chopping block as a political sacrificial toy by none other then the very people I have supported throughout these years, I mean, it's insane.
Moreover, I think that politicians who push this as well as NRA will lose dearly in the long term. Bad precedent.
