RV Park for the NRA annual meeting
So I'm thinking I'll just pull my trailer up for the meeting. Just prefer my trailer to staying in a hotel. Can any one recommend a park? Thanks

Is the "Annual Meeting" in a secret place?

Not many RV parks in Dallas County. I'd stay in Trader's Village in Grand Prairie, or the KOA in Arlington, or the Cedar Hill State Park in Cedar Hill.jmorris wrote:So I'm thinking I'll just pull my trailer up for the meeting. Are you an on-gridder or an off-gridder? Large trailer or small? Do you care how far out of the city center?
As an off-gridder, I like to stay overnight in surface lots near convention centers (for instance, there's a great little surface pay lot catercorner from the Austin Convention Center, but I don't know downtown Dallas as well as I do Austin). That way I don't have to battle rush hour to get to the city center for a conference. Also, some inner city hotels have pay surface lots, where they might waive the fee if you have booked a room with them, but they might also allow you to park overnight if you cough up the bucks. But I've got an overgrown van, not a trailer, so I have perhaps greater flexibility.
The poster above recommended Trader's Village as an option. You might want to book ahead if that turns out to be your choice. The one in Houston books up routinely. No vacancy for weeks at a time, depending on when one inquires.

Here's another campground option. It's a Good Sam facility, about 40 miles from the venue.

My vote is for the Cedar Hill State Park. We like site #41 if it is open. It is all by itself and no one to bother you.

Add another vote for Cedar Hill. I thought that the Traders Village in Arlington was posted 30.06 so maybe not the best place. Perhaps that is only the trading venue.

There are several RV parks around Lake Grapevine and Lake Lewisville.

Hi-ho RV Park
Address: 200 West Bear Creek, Glenn Heights, TX 75154
Phone: (972) 223-4834
it's south of Dallas, less than 20 miles to Downtown.

Re: RV Park for the NRA annual meeting
Thanks for all the suggestions. So far Cedar Hill is looking good to me. Still got a free night on my state parks pass plus I just might come up a day early and enjoy the park. I'll still check the other possibilities, even boondocking it.

Don't want to try that in Dallas in that part of town, your stuff will definately be liberated!!!Interblog wrote:...I like to stay overnight in surface lots near convention centers...
